Set in the back streets of Padstow, the Rick Steinīs Cafe is the smallest sibling of the Steins restaurant empire.
Rick Steins Cafe is the smallest and cheapest member of the Rick Steins family. It is much more laid back and informal than itīs more well known siblings, but is perhaps in our opinion, the best restaurant of the three. It is the locals choice probably due to the fact that it is affordable to eat there on a regular basis.
Rick Steinīs Cafe still produces outstanding Steins inspired food and it seems to be where Rick himself likes to hang out while he is in Padstow. He has been seen often getting stuck into his legendary salt and pepper prawns, which by the way I would have for starter, mains and a desert if it was sociably acceptable!
Rickīs Cafe has a beautiful but tiny courtyard where you can choose to eat alfresco if you desire. There is a small water feature and a mushroom heater that gives you a real Mediterranean vibe.
Steinīs Cafe interior sees a very familiar and comfy front room styling mixed with a beach hut effect with the tables and paintings on the wall. The result is a very relaxing and unpretentious dining experience.
Whilst visiting Rick Steinī s Cafe, it would be worth visiting the Old Customs House pub on the harbour in the centre of Padstow for a couple of pre dinner drinks. The beer is very well kept and their Doom Bar is amongst the best in Cornwall.
If you would like to book a meal at Rick Steins Cafe it is worth booking in advance to get a seat at a descent time. There are often spaces but only around the 9.30pm time if you leave it until last minute.
